Morozumi finished 3-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Morozumi defeated Tracy Steinke (Dawson Creek, BC) 9-2, then went on to lose 4-3 against Rylan Kleiter (Saskatoon, SK). Morozumi responded with a 8-0 win over Darrel Veiner (Dawson Creek , BC). Morozumi won 8-3 against Kleiter in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the 50th Mile Zero Cash Spiel Championship title, Morozumi earned 18.750 world rankings points along with the $10,000CDN first prize cheque. Morozumi move up 14 spots after posting a net gain of 16.687 points improving upon their best 4 results so far this season, ranking 43rd overall with 82.191 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Morozumi ranks 35th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 61.750 points earned so far this season.
