Peterson finished 4-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Peterson defeated Rachel Workin (Fargo, ND) 5-4, then won 10-0 against Kaye Bassett (Fairbanks, AK) and 7-1 against Christine McMakin (Fargo, ND). Peterson won 8-4 against Allory Johnson (Blaine, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
