Riku Yanagisawa (Karuizawa, JPN) lost 9-2 to Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) in the Final of the S3 Group Curling Stadium Series, held October 7 - 10, 2022 in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. To advance to the championship game, Yanagisawa won 7-4 over ByeongJin Jeong (Seoul, KOR) in the semifinals of the 2022 S3 Group Curling Stadium Series in Swift Current, Saskatchewan; and won 8-4 over Scott Manners (Lloydminster, SK) in the quarterfinals.

Yanagisawa finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Yanagisawa defeated Josh Heidt (Kerrobert , SK) 7-0, then won 6-5 against Manners and 6-4 against Jesse St. John (Swift Current, SK) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the S3 Group Curling Stadium Series, Yanagisawa take home 16.500 world rankings points along with the $1,700CDN prize. Yanagisawa move up 26 spots after posting a net gain of 15.753 points improving upon their best 3 results so far this season, ranking 33rd overall with 77.989 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Yanagisawa ranks 14th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 63.000 points earned so far this season.
