Koe finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Koe defeated Jordan Peters (Winnipeg, MB) 5-4, then went on to lose 7-5 against Gauthier. Koe responded with a 10-2 win over Aaron Sluchinski (Calgary, AB). Koe won 7-2 against Steve Laycock (Swift Current, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
