Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) won 6-3 over Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in the Final of the IG Wealth Management Western Showdown, held October 28 - 31, 2022 at the Swift Current Curling Club in Swift Current, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Edin won 8-4 over Yeongseok Jeong (Gangwon, KOR) in the semifinals of the 2022 IG Wealth Management Western Showdown in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada; and won 5-3 over Aaron Sluchinski (Calgary, AB) in the quarterfinals.

Edin finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Edin defeated Jeong 8-7, then won 6-5 against Steve Laycock (Swift Current, SK) and 7-5 against John Epping (Toronto, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the IG Wealth Management Western Showdown Championship title, Edin earned 37.500 world rankings points along with the $12,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 13 of the event schedule, Edin did not improve upon their best events, remaining at 2nd place on the World Ranking Standings with 464.486 total points. Edin ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 163.750 points earned so far this season.
