Kaitlyn Lawes (Winnipeg, MB) finished 2-3 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Lawes defeated Isabelle Ladouceur (Dundas, ON) 7-5, then went on to lose 7-1 against Kerri Einarson (Gimli, MB). Lawes responded with a 7-2 win over Silvana Tirinzoni (Aarau, SUI). Lawes went on to lose 6-3 against Eun ji Gim (Uijeongbu, KOR). Lawes lost 8-1 to Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

Lawes earned 7.500 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 24 of the event schedule, Lawes did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 5th to 7th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 263.176 total points. Lawes ranks 7th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 183.250 points earned so far this season.
