Minato Hayamizu (Karuizawa, JPN) lost 8-6 to Riku Yanagisawa (karuizawa, JPN) in the Final of the Chubu Curling Championships, held April 21 - 24, 2022 in Chubu, Japan. To advance to the championship game, Hayamizu won 9-6 over Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN) in the semifinals of the 2022 Chubu Curling Championships in Chubu, Japan;

Hayamizu finished 3-2 in the 6-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hayamizu defeated Hitoshi Ishihara (Karuizawa, JPN) 12-3, then went on to lose 7-6 against Yanagisawa. Hayamizu lost 7-2 to Morozumi where Hayamizu responded with a 9-1 win over Hirotaka Ishikuro (Karuizawa, JPN). Hayamizu won 6-3 against Kazuya Uehara (Karuizawa, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
