Japan's Kohsuke Hirata lost 6-3 to Go Aoki (Sapporo, JPN) in the Final of the Hokkaido Curling Championships, held January 12 - 17, 2022 in Hokkaido, Japan.

Japan's Kohsuke Hirata finished 5-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Japan's Kohsuke Hirata defeated Japan's Ryouichi Saitou 11-1, then won 8-3 against Japan's Yuya Takigahira. Japan's Kohsuke Hirata went on to lose 5-4 against Japan's Naoki Kanazawa. Japan's Kohsuke Hirata responded with a 7-1 win over Japan's Toa Nakahara. Japan's Kohsuke Hirata went on to lose 4-3 against Japan's Masaki Ishikawa. Japan's Kohsuke Hirata responded with a 8-2 win over Japan's Harunobu Kawahira. Japan's Kohsuke Hirata won 7-1 against Aoki in their final qualifying round match.
