Benny Kapp (Fuessen, GER) lost 7-1 to James Craik (Stirling, SCO) in the Final of the World Junior Curling Championships, held May 15 - 22, 2022 in Jonkoping, Sweden. To advance to the championship game, Kapp won 8-5 over Owen Purcell (Upper Tantallon, CAN) in the semifinals of the 2022 World Junior Curling Championships in Jonkoping, Sweden;
 
Kapp finished 7-2 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kapp defeated Giacomo Colli (Trentino, ITA) 6-2, then won 7-2 against Purcell and 8-3 against Axel Landelius (Mjolby, SWE). Kapp went on to lose 6-4 against Craik. Kapp responded with a 8-3 win over Daniel Casper (Chaska, USA). Kapp won 7-3 against JaeBeom Lee (Gyeongsan, KOR), then won 9-1 against Kim Schwaller (Bern, SUI) and 13-6 against William Becker (Naseby, NZL). Kapp went on to lose 7-6 against Lukas Hostmaelingen (Lillehammer, NOR) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the World Junior Curling Championships, Kapp take home 22.415 world rankings points, moving up 29 spots the World Ranking Standings into 50th place overall with 70.856 total points. Kapp ranks 50th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 70.856 points earned so far this season.
