Christina Black (Halifax, NS) won 6-2 over Melissa Adams (Fredericton, NB) in the Final of the Steele Cup Cash, held October 11 - 13 at the Capital Winter Curling Club in Fredericton, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Black won 6-5 over Jenna Campbell (Fredericton, NB) in the semifinals
Black finished 4-0 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Black defeated New Brunswick's Heather Munn 8-2, then won 7-5 against Justine Comeau (Fredericton, NB) and 7-1 against Amanda Power (Charlottetown, PEI). Black won 8-2 against Abby Burgess (Oromocto, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Steele Cup Cash Championship title, Black earned 7.500 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 11 of the event schedule, Black did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Black ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
