Gushue finished 3-0 in the 16 team Stu Sells 1824 Halifax Classic qualifying round, held November 12 - 15 at the Halifax Curling Club in Halifax, Canada. In their opening game, Gushue defeated Greg Smith (St. John's, NL) 13-1, then won 6-3 against Trent Skanes (St. John's, NL) and 5-4 against James Grattan (Oromocto, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Stu Sells 1824 Halifax Classic Championship title, Gushue earned 0.000 world rankings points along with the $6,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 13 of the event schedule, Gushue did not improve upon their best events, remaining at 3rd place on the World Ranking Standings with 395.747 total points.
