Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO) lost 5-2 to Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) in the Final of the Boost National, held November 2 - 7, 2021 in Chestermere, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Mouat won 7-2 over Peter De Cruz (Geneve, SUI) in the semifinals of the 2021 Boost National in Chestermere, Alberta; and won 8-2 over Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2021 Boost National in Chestermere, Alberta;
Mouat finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mouat defeated Ross Paterson (Glasgow , SCO) 5-4, then won 6-5 against Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI). Mouat went on to lose 8-6 against Gushue. Mouat responded with a 8-2 win over Ross Whyte (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Boost National, Mouat take home 67.268 world rankings points along with the $20,000CDN prize, remaining in 2nd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 46.788 after improving upon their best so far this season. Mouat ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 228.868 points earned so far this season.
