Howell went on to lose 6-0 against Violette. Howell responded with a 6-4 win over Jason Smith (St. Paul, MN). Howell won 4-3 against Jared Allen (Nashville, TN), then won 5-4 against Matt Hamilton (Madison, WI) and 7-3 against Matt Birklid (Seattle, WA). Howell won 6-5 against Andrew Stopera (Briarcliff Manor, NY). Howell went on to lose 5-4 against Ben Richardson (Seattle, WA) in their final qualifying round match.

Howell ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
