Takigahira went on to lose 6-2 against Ryutaro Tani (Hokkaido, JPN). Takigahira responded with a 11-5 win over Kantaro Kawano (Sapporo, JPN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Takigahira earned 12.231 world rankings points for their Top 4 finish in the Japan National Championship.
