Thompson won 7-3 against Alan O'Leary (Halifax, NS), then won 6-5 against Murphy and 8-4 against Chad Stevens (Truro, NS) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Deloitte Nova Scotia Tankard, Thompson take home 8.663 world rankings points.
