Manuel won 7-5 against Alan O'Leary (Halifax, NS), then won 9-8 against Stuart Thompson (Dartmouth, NS) and 8-3 against Andrew Gibson (Nova Scotia). Manuel went on to lose 9-2 against Brent MacDougall (Halifax, NS) in their final qualifying round match.
Manuel earned 2.363 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. Manuel move up 4 spots after posting a net gain of 1.058 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 114th overall with 34.341 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
