Matsumura finished 8-1 in the 10 team Pacific-Asia Curling Championships qualifying round, held November 2 - 9, 2019 in , . In their opening game, Matsumura defeated Sean Hall (Melbourne, AUS) 8-5, then went on to lose 8-6 against Kim. Matsumura responded with a 7-5 win over Abylay Zhuzbay (Almaty, KAZ). Matsumura won 13-3 against Nassar Alyafei (Doha, QAT), then won 21-0 against Tijani Cole (Lagos, NGR) and 8-7 against Scott Becker (Naseby, NZL). Matsumura won 6-5 against Randie Shen (Taipei City, TPE), then won 8-7 against Zou and 13-2 against Jason Chang (Hong Kong, HKG) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Pacific-Asia Curling Championships, Matsumura take home 21.600 world rankings points. For week 16 of the event schedule, Matsumura did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
