Grunder/De Cruz Reaches 2020 International Mixed Doubles Trophy Aarau Quarters

Nadja Grunder/Peter De Cruz (Geneve, SUI) qualified for the 2020 International Mixed Doubles Trophy Aarau playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 7-6 against Switzerland's Daniela Rupp/Kevin Wunderlin.

Grunder/De Cruz finished 3-2 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Grunder/De Cruz lost 7-4 to Kristin Moen Skaslien/Magnus Nedregotten (Oppdal, NOR), then responded with a 7-2 win over Switzerland's Laura Engler/Marco Hefti. Grunder/De Cruz won 8-3 against Spain's Oihane Otaegi/Mikel Unanue, then won 7-5 against Michele Jaeggi/Marc Pfister (Bern, SUI). Grunder/De Cruz went on to lose 6-4 against Gina Aitken/Scott Andrews (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.

Grunder/De Cruz earned 18.999 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the International Mixed Doubles Trophy Aarau, remaining in 668th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 9.499 after improving upon their best so far this season.
