In their opening game, Howard lost 7-5 to Meini Wang (Changchun, CHN), then responded with a 9-0 win over Chenyi Wang (Beijing, CHN). Howard went on to lose 7-4 against Un-Chi Gim (Gyeonggi-do, KOR). Howard lost 7-1 to Kristen Streifel (Swift Current , SK) in their final qualifying round match.
