Dominik Maerki (Chaska, MN) finished 3-2 in the 12 team Goldline US Open of Curling - Contender Round qualifying round, held September 13 - 15, 2019 at the Four Seasons Curling Club in Blaine, United States. In their opening game, Maerki lost 7-6 to Darryl Sobering (Denver, CO), then responded with a 7-3 win over Stephen Imes (Columbus, OH). Maerki went on to lose 6-5 against Jed Brundidge (St. Paul, MN). Maerki responded with a 9-3 win over Todd Birr (Ham Lake, MN). Maerki won 11-6 against Jason Smith (Blaine , MN) in their final qualifying round match.

Maerki earned 2.769 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 10 spots the World Ranking Standings into 151st place overall with 19.381 total points. Maerki ranks 73rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 2.769 points earned so far this season.
