Pengpeng Cao/ Hanyu (Beijing, CHN) finished 1-3 in the 29-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Cao/Hanyu lost 11-4 to Laura Hickey/Patrick Janssen (Pickering, ON), droppimg another game, 11-4 to Ellen Redlick/Tyler Matheson (North Battleford, SK) where Cao/Hanyu responded with a 8-3 win over Steph Davis/Gary Davis (Toronto, ON). Cao/Hanyu went on to lose 6-5 against Catherine Liscumb/Chris Liscumb (Ilderton, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

Cao/Hanyu earned 1.827 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 26 of the event schedule, Cao/Hanyu did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Cao/Hanyu ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
