Matsumura finished 2-2 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Matsumura lost 8-5 to Jeff Richard (Kelowna, BC), droppimg another game, 6-4 to Wenzek where Matsumura responded with a 8-1 win over Dayne Gagnon (Abbotsford, BC).
