Jacobs finished 3-0 in the 16 team Meridian Canadian Open qualifying round, held January 14 - 19, 2020 in , . In their opening game, Jacobs defeated Howard 7-5, then won 7-3 against Yannick Schwaller (Bern, SUI) and 5-3 against Korey Dropkin (Chaska, USA) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Meridian Canadian Open Championship title, Jacobs earned 90.492 world rankings points along with the $35,000CDN first prize cheque, remaining in 1st place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 531.383 total points. Jacobs ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 458.159 points earned so far this season.
