In their opening game, Symonds lost 6-3 to Fredrik Nyman (Stockholm, SWE), droppimg another game, 8-3 to Luc Violette (Lake Stevens, WA) where Symonds responded with a 7-4 win over Stuart Thompson (Dartmouth, NS). Symonds won 6-3 against Scott Jones (Moncton, NB), then won 5-4 against Matthew Manuel (Halifax, NS). Symonds went on to lose 8-3 against Chad Stevens (Truro, NS) in their final qualifying round match.
