Tyler Smith (Charlottetown, PEI) finished 4-5 in the 13-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Smith defeated Vincent Roberge (Levis, QC) 9-7, then went on to lose 7-6 against Tanner Horgan (Sudbury, NONT). Smith lost 7-3 to JT Ryan (Winnipeg, MB). Smith lost 9-7 to Graeme Weagle (Chester, NS) where Smith responded with a 13-4 win over Sawer Kaeser (Fort Smith, NT). Smith went on to lose 9-7 against Jack Smeltzer (Fredericton, NB). Smith lost 11-7 to Sam Steep (Galt, ON) where Smith responded with a 16-2 win over Javen Komaksiutiksak (Iqaluit, NU). Smith won 9-5 against Trygg Jensen (Whitehorse, YK) in their final qualifying round match.

Smith earned 4.768 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 24 of the event schedule, Smith did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Smith ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
