Kristen MacDiarmid (Halifax, NS) qualified for the 2018 Lady Monctonian Invitational Spiel playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 9-6 against Mary-Anne Arsenault (Halifax, NS). of the 2018 Lady Monctonian Invitational Spiel in Moncton, New Brunswick;

MacDiarmid finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, MacDiarmid defeated Justine Comeau (Fredericton, NB) 8-2, then won 7-5 against Veronica Smith (Charlottetown, PEI) and 9-3 against Sylvie Robichaud (Moncton , NB). MacDiarmid went on to lose 5-4 against Julie McEvoy (Halifax, NS) in their final qualifying round match.

MacDiarmid earned 9.300 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Lady Monctonian Invitational Spiel. MacDiarmid move up 9 spots after posting a net gain of 7.559 points improving upon their best 4 results so far this season, ranking 101st overall with 34.001 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
