Mei lost 6-2 to Alina Kovaleva (Saint-Petersburg, RUS) where Mei responded with a 9-3 win over Daniela Jentsch (Fuessen, GER) in their final qualifying round match.

Mei earned 13.838 world rankings points for their Top 4 finish in the China Open. Mei move up 2 spots after posting a net gain of 7.041 points improving upon their best 4 results so far this season, ranking 40th overall with 96.111 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Mei ranks 41st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 41.734 points earned so far this season.
