Cory Heggestad () won 9-3 over Mark Bice (Sarnia, ON) in the Final To advance to the championship game, Heggestad won 5-4 over Damien Villard (Cambridge, ON) in the semifinals of the 2018 Port Elgin Superspiel in Port Elgin, Ontario, Canada; and won 8-3 over Wayne Tuck Jr. (Strathroy, ON) in the quarterfinals.
Heggestad finished 2-2 in the 18 team Port Elgin Superspiel qualifying round, held November 16 - 18, 2018 at the Port Elgin Curling Club in Port Elgin, Canada. In their opening game, Heggestad defeated Brandon Tippin (Elmvale, ON) 8-2, then went on to lose 5-3 against John Willsey (Waterloo, ON). Heggestad responded with a 7-1 win over David Gravelle (Port Elgin, ON). Heggestad went on to lose 8-3 against Kyle Foster (Arborg , MB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Port Elgin Superspiel Championship title, Heggestad earned 24.209 world rankings points along with the $4,900CDN first prize cheque. Heggestad move up 25 spots after posting a net gain of 20.283 points improving upon their best 6 results so far this season, ranking 57th overall with 71.764 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Heggestad ranks 50th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 48.208 points earned so far this season.
