Jason Gunnlaugson (Morris, MB) run at the Ashley HomeStore Curling Classic came to an end in the semifinals with a 9-6 loss to Ross Paterson (Glasgow, SCO). Gunnlaugson advanced through the quarterfinals with a 7-4 win over Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB).

Gunnlaugson lost 7-1 to Bottcher responding with a 1-0 win over Sean Geall (Kelowna, BC) in their final qualifying round match. Gunnlaugson needed tiebreakers to advance to the playoffs, Gunnlaugson defeated Cotter 5-4, then won against John Epping (Toronto, ON) 7-2.
