MacKenzie finished 3-2 in the 18 team WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic qualifying round, held December 7 - 9, 2018 at the Thistle St. Andrews Curling Club in Saint John, Canada. In their opening game, MacKenzie defeated Brent MacDougall (Halifax, NS) 7-6, then went on to lose 7-2 against Murphy. MacKenzie responded with a 7-2 win over Xiu Yue Ma (Beijing, CHN). MacKenzie won 8-3 against Trent Skanes (St. John's, NL). MacKenzie went on to lose 8-2 against Paul Dobson (Saint John, NB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
MacKenzie earned 12.758 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic, moving up 52 spots the World Ranking Standings into 121st place overall with 32.015 total points.
