Julie Tippin (Woodstock, ON) qualified for the 2018 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2 playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 7-5 against Sayaka Yoshimura (Sapporo, JPN). of the 2018 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2 in Thunder Bay, Ontario;

Tippin finished 2-2 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Tippin defeated Hailey Beaudry (Thunder Bay, NONT) 9-3, then went on to lose 5-3 against Kristen Streifel (Regina, SK). Tippin lost 5-2 to Un-Chi Gim (Gyeonggi -do, KOR) where Tippin responded with a 8-1 win over Kelsey Rocque (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

Tippin earned 17.903 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2. For week 13 of the event schedule, Tippin did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Tippin ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
