In their opening game, Watling defeated Laura Burtnyk (Winnipeg, MB) 6-1, then won 6-5 against Tori Koana (Fujiyoshida, JPN) and 6-5 against Abby Ackland (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Atkins Curling Supplies Classic, Watling take home 17.417 world rankings points along with the $1,600CDN prize, moving up 11 spots the World Ranking Standings into 53rd place overall with 70.831 total points.
