Mikael Wilenius (Stocksund, SWE) finished 1-3 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Wilenius lost 8-4 to Nicklas Soderberg (Skelleftea, SWE), droppimg another game, 7-6 to Pelle Sjostrom (Skelleftea, SWE) where Wilenius responded with a 8-1 win over Johan Runnquist (Sundbyberg, SWE). Wilenius went on to lose 7-4 against K-G Pettersson (Linkoping, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.
