To advance to the championship game, Friesen won 6-2 over Thomas Dunlop (East St. Paul, MB) in the semifinals of the 2018 Teulon MJCT Mens Spiel in Teulon, Manitoba, Canada;
 
Friesen finished 3-0 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Friesen defeated Reese Braden (Winnipeg, MB) 9-2, then won 9-8 against Jack Hykaway (Winnipeg, MB) and 8-4 against Zachary Wasylik (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
