Tallon finished 3-2 in the 18 team WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic qualifying round, held December 1 - 3, 2017 at the Thistle St. Andrews Curling Club in Saint John, Canada. In their opening game, Tallon lost 8-7 to Murphy, then responded with a 9-8 win over Dave Sullivan (Saint John, NB). Tallon won 8-1 against Paul Dexter (Halifax, NS), then won 7-5 against Paul Dobson (Saint John, NB). Tallon went on to lose 8-3 against Mayhew in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the WFG Jim Sullivan Curling Classic, Tallon take home 14.859 world rankings points along with the $3,300CDN prize, moving up 155 spots the World Ranking Standings into 190th place overall with 19.475 total points. Tallon ranks 132nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 15.336 points earned so far this season.
