Balderston finished 3-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Balderston defeated Stefan Staehli (Bern, SUI) 8-5, then won 9-5 against Carl deConinck Smith (Rosetown, SK) and 6-2 against Daylan Vavrek (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
