To advance to the championship game, Pewarchuk won 4-3 over Japan's Satsuki Fujisawa in the semifinals of the 2017 Driving Force Abbotsford Cashspiel in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada; and won 8-3 over Shiela Cowan (Cloverdale, BC) in the quarterfinals.

Pewarchuk finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Pewarchuk defeated Sarah Wark (Chilliwack , BC) 6-4, then won 7-1 against Japan's Satsuki Fujisawa and 9-2 against Chelsea Duncan (Whitehorse, YK) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Driving Force Abbotsford Cashspiel, Pewarchuk take home 20.436 world rankings points along with the $3,500CDN prize.
