Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg, MB) lost 7-2 to Jamie Sinclair (Blaine, USA) in the Final of the Players' Championship, held April 10 - 15, 2018 in Toronto, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Jones won 7-5 over Kerri Einarson (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2018 Players' Championship in Toronto, Ontario; and won 4-2 over Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN) in the quarterfinals.
Jones finished 5-0 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Jones defeated Eve Muirhead (Perth , SCO) 5-4, then won 9-2 against Nina Roth (Blaine, USA) and 8-7 against Laura Walker (Edmonton, AB). Jones won 8-4 against Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON), then won 8-2 against EunJung Kim (Uiseong, KOR) in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the Players' Championship, Jones take home 58.496 world rankings points along with the $24,000CDN prize, remaining in 1st place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 23.593 after improving upon their best so far this season. Jones ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 498.079 points earned so far this season.
