Susan Carothers (Fairbanks, AK) run at the 2017 USA Senior Women's National Championship came to an end in the semifinals with a 10-0 loss to Margie Smith (St. Paul, MN).

Carothers finished 3-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Carothers lost 9-3 to Norma O'Leary (Duluth, MN), then responded with a 8-1 win over Beth Bohlman (Grand Forks, ND). Carothers won 9-7 against Karen Fairley (Portland, OR), then won 9-2 against Debra Horn (Cleveland, OH) in their final qualifying round match.

. For week of the event schedule, Carothers did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Carothers ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
