Lawton went on to lose 4-2 against Diane Gushulak (Vancouver , BC). Lawton responded with a 8-6 win over Jie Mei (HARBIN, CHN) in their final qualifying round match.
Lawton earned 2.265 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 27th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 120.489 total points. Lawton ranks 29th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 31.611 points earned so far this season.
