Cheryl Bernard (Winnipeg, MB) run at the 2016 Colonial Square Ladies Classic came to an end in the semifinals with a 9-5 loss to Eve Muirhead (Perth, SCO). of the 2016 Colonial Square Ladies Classic in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada; Bernard advanced through the quarterfinals with a 6-5 win over Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN).
 
Bernard finished 3-2 in the 24 team Colonial Square Ladies Classic qualifying round, held September 16 - 19, 2016 at the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon, Canada. In their opening game, Bernard defeated Chantelle Eberle (Regina, SK) 6-2, then went on to lose 7-3 against Fujisawa. Bernard lost 7-3 to Brett Barber (Biggar, SK) where Bernard responded with a 7-2 win over Kim Schneider (Kronau, SK). Bernard won 5-3 against Val Sweeting (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Bernard earned 36.987 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Colonial Square Ladies Classic, remaining in 2nd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 462.923 total points. Bernard ranks 13th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 36.987 points earned so far this season.
