Ewan MacDonald (Inverness, SCO) finished 4-5 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, MacDonald lost 8-7 to Kyle Smith (Perth, SCO), droppimg another game, 11-10 to Cameron Bryce (Border, SCO). MacDonald lost 7-3 to David Murdoch (Lockerbie, SCO). MacDonald lost 10-6 to Bruce Mouat (Edinburgh, SCO) where MacDonald responded with a 10-6 win over Moray Combe (Perth, SCO). MacDonald went on to lose 5-4 against Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO). MacDonald responded with a 7-6 win over Grant Hardie (Dumfries, SCO). MacDonald won 8-4 against Scott MacLeod (Aberdeen, SCO), then won 7-3 against Robin Brydone (Perth, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.

MacDonald earned 5.446 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 27 of the event schedule, MacDonald did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. MacDonald ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
