Chelsea Carey (Calgary, AB) qualified for the 2016 ASHAM U.S. Open of Curling playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 4-3 against Sijia Liu (Harbin, CHN). of the 2016 ASHAM U.S. Open of Curling in Blaine, Minnesota, United States;

Carey finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Carey defeated Cristin Clark (Blaine, MN) 10-2, then won 7-0 against Minnesota's Alexandra Carlson and 6-4 against Suzanne Birt (Charlottetown, PEI). Carey won 7-3 against Jamie Sinclair (Blaine, USA) in their final qualifying round match.
