In their opening game, Cotter defeated Tom Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO) 7-2, then won 7-5 against Colin Thomas (St. John's, NL) and 6-3 against Andrew Symonds (St. John's, NL). Cotter won 4-3 against Chad Stevens (Halifax , NS) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2 Championship title, Cotter earned 33.228 world rankings points along with the $9,200CDN first prize cheque, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 16th place overall with 159.857 total points. Cotter ranks 5th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 65.907 points earned so far this season.
