Reid Carruthers (Winnipeg, MB) lost 6-5 to Steve Laycock (Saskatoon, SK) in the Final of the U.S. Open of Curling, held January 2 - 4, 2015 in Blaine, Minnesota. To advance to the championship game, Carruthers won 8-6 over Jeff Stoughton (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2015 U.S. Open of Curling in Blaine, Minnesota; and won 6-3 over Adam Casey (Charlottetown, PEI) in the quarterfinals. of the 2015 U.S. Open of Curling in Blaine, Minnesota;
 
Carruthers finished 4-1 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Carruthers defeated Scott Dunnam (Philadelphia, PA) 9-2, then won 6-4 against Northern Ontario's Trevor Bonot and 5-3 against Brady Clark (Seattle, WA). Carruthers won 7-1 against Craig Brown (Blaine, USA). Carruthers went on to lose 6-3 against Stoughton in their final qualifying round match.
