In their opening game, Gushulak defeated Kristie Moore (Edmonton, AB) 6-2, then went on to lose 6-4 against Jill Thurston (Winnipeg, MB). Gushulak responded with a 7-4 win over Norma Brown (Alberta). Gushulak went on to lose 9-2 against Casey Scheidegger (Lethbridge, AB). Gushulak lost 9-3 to Shannon Kleibrink (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
