Howard won 8-4 against Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the The Syncrude National Championship title, Howard earned 40.000 world rankings points along with the $24,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 2nd place overall with 428.530 total points.
