Iveta Stasa-Sarsune (Riga, LAT) finished 4-5 in the 10 team Le Gruyere AOP European Curling Championships qualifying round, held November 16 - 24, 2018 in , . In their opening game, Stasa-Sarsune lost 11-8 to Oona Kauste (Aland, FIN), then responded with a 8-6 win over Madeleine Dupont (Hvidovre, DEN). Stasa-Sarsune went on to lose 8-7 against Alina Kovaleva (Saint-Petersburg, RCF). Stasa-Sarsune lost 7-4 to Anna Hasselborg (Sundbyberg, SWE) where Stasa-Sarsune responded with a 9-7 win over Eve Muirhead (Stirling, SCO). Stasa-Sarsune went on to lose 10-5 against Daniela Jentsch (Fuessen, GER). Stasa-Sarsune lost 9-2 to Silvana Tirinzoni (Aarau, SUI) where Stasa-Sarsune responded with a 7-4 win over Anna Kubeskova (Prague, CZE). Stasa-Sarsune won 11-7 against Veronica Zappone (Trentino, ITA) in their final qualifying round match.
Stasa-Sarsune earned 12.449 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 20 spots the World Ranking Standings into 105th place overall with 35.303 total points. Stasa-Sarsune ranks 109th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 18.751 points earned so far this season.
