In their opening game, McArdle defeated Steve Birklid (Seattle, WA) 7-4, then went on to lose 6-3 against Jay Wakefield (New Westminster, BC). McArdle responded with a 7-5 win over Steve Waatainen (Nanaimo, BC). McArdle went on to lose 6-3 against Jason Clarke (Victoria, BC). McArdle lost 5-3 to Jason Montgomery (Duncan, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
