Mirjam Ott (Davos, SUI) won 7-6 over Sweden's Margaretha Sigfridsson in the Final of the Ford World Women's Curling Championship, held March 17 - February 25, 2012 in Lethbridge, Alberta.
 
Ott finished 8-3 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Ott defeated Bingyu Wang (Harbin, CHN) 7-5, then won 11-7 against Allison Pottinger (St. Paul, USA). Ott went on to lose 6-5 against Heather Nedohin (Edmonton, CAN). Ott lost 7-4 to Sweden's Margaretha Sigfridsson where Ott responded with a 7-4 win over Melanie Robillard (Fuessen, GER). Ott won 5-4 against Eve Muirhead (Stirling, SCO), then won 9-5 against Linda Klimova (Prague, CZE) and 8-4 against Italy's Diana Gaspari. Ott went on to lose 7-4 against Lene Nielsen (Taarnby, DEN). Ott responded with a 6-5 win over Korea's Ji-Sun Kim. Ott won 6-4 against Anna Sidorova (Moscow, RUS) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Ford World Women's Curling Championship Championship title, Ott earned 45.000 world rankings points. Ott move up 4 spots after posting a net gain of 181.51 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 3rd overall with 378.150 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Ott ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 129.450 points earned so far this season.
